Part of the Cint team for exactly one year, Andy Greenwood is our Sales Director, UK. Normally based in our London office, Andy is currently working from his home – just like the rest of our employees! Luckily, his daily job hasn’t changed too much except for the change of scene. He answered some questions for us so we could get to know him a bit better.
What’s a typical ‘day in the life as a Sales Director?
For me, my days are often a mix of things – some cold calling, conducting meetings, planning more meetings, finding new leads, quoting for existing clients and building important relationships. I am also in regular contact with the Customer Success team and of course, there’s always a bit of admin thrown in for good measure.
What are you passionate about when it comes to your job?
I very much enjoy the thrill of bringing brand-new clients on board that Cint has never worked with before, as well as achieving significant growth from existing clients. It’s great working together as one team to make this happen.
What kind of music do you listen to while you are working?
When I do have the opportunity to listen to music at work. I pretty much always listen to 90s at work as it takes me back to my teenage years – probably the best decade ever for music as I’m sure you all agree!
What do you like to eat while working?
You’ll often find me munching on some cashews (anything with ‘cash’ in them is good for a salesperson).
What is the best way to start the day?
I think the best way to start out each day is with some exercise to give an energy boost. If I’m working from home, I’ll try and pop to the swimming pool before work.
What’s your favourite thing(s) to do when you aren’t working?
I’m a massive football fan (Liverpool) so watch a lot of football. I also love to run and swim, so normally go running or swimming 3-4 times per week.
How different was your life one year ago?
Right now, everyone’s lives are quite different than they were a year ago, as I think most will agree! However, one year before joining Cint I was on gardening leave, so I was very much enjoying being on a what was sort of a paid holiday. I spent it visiting friends, relaxing and travelling around Asia for six weeks. It was four months very well spent.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
Wow, there are so many. Hiroshima, Japan was probably the most moving emotionally, but I’d probably have to say Machu Picchu in Peru was my favourite.
What is something you will NEVER do again?
Eat six bananas in one day! Don’t do it. I did it when I was young and didn’t eat another banana for about 20 years! Now, I Iove them again but in much lower quantities.
What is/are your favourite thing(s) about working for Cint?
Everyone at Cint has been so welcoming and so driven to work together to achieve a successful outcome. The current COVID-19 situation is tough but there is no doubt in my mind we’ll come through this, together. This kind of teamwork is my favourite thing about working for Cint.
What is the luckiest thing that happened to you?
Apart from working at Cint, of course, was the opportunity to live abroad for much of my childhood. My father used to work for the Foreign Office (FCO) so I lived in California from the age of 2-5, Budapest from the age of 5-8, back to the UK from age 8-11, then Berne, Switzerland from age 11-16 and finally in Gothenburg, Sweden from age 16-20. And yes, I do speak some Swedish! Hej!
