What can we say about last week’s big conference in Austin?! The IIeX series of conferences has continued to grow year after year, and the organizers upped the game with a bigger venue – and a new city – this year. Even with a bigger venue there were so many attendees that it still boasted quite a crowd!

Kicking off the event, Garrett Gil de Rubio, our VP of business development, chatted with HappyMR host, Jamin Brazil about the conference, and what’s new at P2Sample. They covered important subjects facing the sample industry right now, such as respondent engagement, automation and the benefits of programmatic approaches. We also attended as many of the educational sessions as we could – there were several tracks – one of which was facilitated by P2Sample’s own Jaceey Sebastian. One session in particular (led by speakers from Microsoft) stood out regarding accessibility of survey design, particularly when it comes to Generation Z. How to engage the youth market in research was a subject touched upon by several different speakers throughout the event. This youngest generation is poised to start changing the game for the market research industry. There was also a lot of talk surrounding getting to know customers and clients better, including an insightful presentation from Little Bird Marketing on how to be at the ready.

Of course, we spent some time perusing the exhibit hall, which was booked to capacity. We saw a large number of technology companies, innovative approaches and new concepts. It was interesting to explore some of the latest approaches surrounding nonconscious measurement and blockchain applications.

Couple all this with fun after hours, hosted events for networking, plus opportunities to start the day right with running and yoga and we had a busy week in Austin. There were great evening events throughout the conference: we kicked it off with a packed house (and Austin street tacos!) at the WIRe event on day one; had an awesome time with good, relaxing vibes at the Lucid block party; and wrapped it up with the Greenbook networking conference on the final night, where we were able to connect with quite a few end clients. Next time, we’ll bring personal fans!

IIeX Austin is definitely a conference that goes on the “not to be missed” list. The content and the quality of the attendees was great, and we’ll be back next year!
